For me personally, today is another sad and disappointing day for the village of Bešište, where I was born and grew up. Today my website www.besiste.com is shutting down forever, simply because almost no one visits anymore, especially the people of Mariovo and our own Selo Bešište. When I created it in November 2011, the site had over 1,000 visits a day for many years. People wrote to me from all over the world, thanking me for keeping the village alive. But over the years, with the rise of social media, the visits slowly dropped… until now there are days with zero visitors. So the thousands of photographs and videos I took with so much love will stay on my computer, collecting dust, waiting to be forgotten, just like the houses and, slowly, the memory of the village itself.
